I've been fortunate enough to work on almost every car brand in the country, but Mitsubishi was special. Our agency turned a small-time, Japanese car brand into the epitome of sexy-cool sheet metal. It was where I learned that saying you're cool is not what cool brands do. It's where I learned from the smartest planners in the business that the simpler your strategy is, the louder it resonates. And it was the first time I was tapped to be a Retail Creative Director. I learned to judge good work by how effectively it sold products, and that great brand-based advertising can sell a lot of products.
