Creative Director. Copywriter. Thinker. Maker. Team Player.

Welcome

I appreciate your interest in me and my work. If you're in a hurry, here's a cheat sheet to what you'll find inside:
Can he manage a department and generate smart creative that sells? Check out my Hyundai Retail.
Does he have a sense of humor? Visit the "Radio" section and play at least one spot. You won't regret it.
Yeah, but can he do it on our shoestring budget? Take a peek at the Gamefly and 23andMe spots we produced with
our own gear. You might even recognize my voice-over work, including singing.
Otherwise, sit back with a beer, or a slightly-better-than-average bourbon, and really dive in.
That's what I was doing when the site was built.

flag

If you're not sure why this is a Chicago flag, ask me.

you can take the boy
out of chicago
but never try to take
his hotdog.

Raised along the shore of Lake Michigan, I learned to be friendly.
I learned that I love making people smile, I'm notoriously honest,
and that a proper hotdog at Wrigley Field is ruined by ketchup.
It's just a Midwest thing.

I moved to Los Angeles for college because, well… Los Angeles.

I earned a degree in the art of persuasion. Then I spent years learning
that advertising isn't telling somebody what they need.
It's hearing what they want, and then offering it in a charming way.
Of course, maybe that's just the Midwest thing again.

Los Angeles is where I've been lucky to work with some of the smartest and
most talented people in this business. It's where I honed my passion for
creativity and started my beautiful family.

When I'm not making ads, I love to ski but not snowboard.
I love to wakeboard but not water ski.
I have more costumes than any grown man should have, and I find all kinds
of excuses to put them on throughout the year. I've coached soccer, baseball,
football and rugby. I golf once a week and have an impressive collection of
agency softball jerseys.

The only thing I can't get in LA is a legitimate Chicago dog, with neon green relish, onions, tomatoes, sport peppers, pickle spear, and celery salt,
on a poppy seed bun. - If I do, don't even think of trying to get a bite.
Unless they mistakenly added ketchup. Then it's all yours.

Some people love to be the smartest one in the room.
I prefer a room that's filled with really smart people.
